I’ve worked for both companies and both have their pros and cons. Maybe things have changed after I left Sephora because I was still making a terrible wage, gratis where??? The managers and sales people got more than I ever did. We were told if we sold the credit card we would be able to pick from an old gratis bin and then getting laid off over the phone during COVID was it for me. At Ulta I work at the pay isn’t all that great either and the leadership team is always so bitchy, no organization and they make the morale shitty. I feel like managers should get better training at what they do and also shouldn’t be talked down on. Gratis at Ulta is ASSSSSSSSS. Picking your own gratis/ordering it sounds so much better. A certain manager at my store is a huge bitch about gratis and thinks she just deserves it all, get off your fucking high horse and has favorites. Either way, I can’t stand both places.
