Venting about tumblr and obsession with Korrasami and other shiping.

Ok, there's a lot to deal with here (and the other thread or threads you've basically repeated yourself here that I wouldn't be surprised get shut down by the mods as spam/trolling or whatever,) but I really want to focus on this part for multiple reasons/directions.

I literally just did two posts. I posted on the "Legend of Korra" and another one on "Last Airbender" because I thought it might have different groups. Why do you make it look like I did ten times?

For starters, externally, Asami was (criminally) underused during those first two seasons (and in way, the franchise overall, but that's another story) because the (all-male) writing staff believed Mako would be the new Zuko in popularity, which he didn't to say the least as well as Konietzko admitting they messed up with their female characters in Book 2, so Book 3 was getting back to basics and that includes Korra and Asami being over Mako and exploring their newfound friendship, which unlike the first 2 seasons (read: Doylistic) was actually organic and fit the franchise's themes to a "T", namely their teamwork in "Long Live The Queen". Seriously, Asami is basically Batman yet took a backseat for what Konietzko, himself admitted was "teenybopper" drama, so she was loooong overdue as a deuteragonist to Korra.

Well then you basically admitted that Asami had a lot of flaws at first. This is my point, she feels that it could have been done better.

Second, besides the above teamwork, from the 3-year Time Skip onward, Asami has consistently worked her butt off in/for Republic City from remodeling it (which Korra, herself couldn't do) by simply incorporating the spirit vines into the architecture including the rail system, taking in Mako and Bolin's family, being summoned by the president, himself as "one of Republic City's brightest minds" to counter Kuvira's spirit vine weaponry and has to rebuild the city again after Kuvira's defeated where Part 1 of "Turf Wars" has her explicitly refuse to just stand there while Korra makes a big speech and instead came up with the housing plans to make good on said big speech since Korra only thought as far as "improve morale" and ponied up the money for said housing then there's her obvious combat credentials in Part 3 where she already had a plan to counter Tokuga's. And from the looks of the new comic trilogy, she's being even more assertive when it comes to dealing with Kuvira.

So no, Asami is not a "trophy wife/girlfriend" whether Korra was a man or not.

True, she has been much more useful in recent seasons.

The Dude's words of wisdom.

Korra and Opal had exactly one ship-y scene, (which simultaneously reflects Korra's character development, Opal's airbending talent and foreshadows the tornado used to catch Zaheer,) but otherwise, that's it. And as for Korra/Bolin, she comforts him when he's bummed about Opal finally going to the Air Temple, he saw her off before the boat trip to the SWT, his letters to her and she unconditionally welcomes him back in Book 4 when he defects from the Earth Empire. Bolin/Opal Balance each other out like Korra/Asami while Korra/Bolin was sweet in Book 1, Book 2 spells out how everyone was simply infatuated with each other during those first two books rather than true love.

It's just my opinion, so why bother going to find a video to be condescending to me?

I think Makorra and Korrasami are infatuated, since Korra fell in love with Mako in the first few seconds and then fell in love with Asami when she started to pay more attention to her.

Here shows the difference:

And lastly, Tumblr has practically/in general always been progressive/Social Justice-minded, so LGBT fans on it are "obsessed" because of how rare it still is to get decent representation especially from a children's show, particularly a franchise that many of them grew up with that validated them when so. much of pop culture and real world society absolutely doesn't. That is absolutely no different than what Wakanda is for Black people (like myself) or "Coco" is for Mexicans.

What does this say about tumblr when real minority people are ridiculed for criticizing fictional minorities and called "white straigth" while glorifying something written by white straigth.

Well, Black Panther would not abandon a destroyed Wakanda to take vacation in some spiritual world as Korra did in the end for Republic City.

And when his father died, he reacted naturally rather than ignoring how Asami did.

Black Panther is much better written.

You probably do not get into the tumblr enough. They said things like white people deserve to be killed and raped by black people because they had ancestors who had black slaves (ignoring the existence of white slaves). Is this progressive?

In addition, bisexual people have other things in life beyond sexuality. Korra, a bisexual heroine who saves the world is far more interesting than simply having a girlfriend and neglecting things like helping a destroyed city.
