Is this video/event fake? Solar eclipses don't look like that right?

I agree, there is nothing in this video that is obviously fake. The horizontal line is clearly a cloud, what's more the cloud is continuous all the way across the eclipse, if there was a filter it probably would have broken this cloud.

Exposure levels are plausible, this is an annular eclipse so you're seeing a ring of the body of the sun itself, not the corona. It is very near the horizon so the brightness is greatly diminished. It's easy to look at the sun this close to the horizon (you probably still shouldn't) and cell phone cameras definitely can capture the brightness of the setting sun and have the foreground correctly exposed as well. The setting sun is not very bright. Just google for sunset pictures and you'll see plenty of cell phone images showing the red setting sun and foreground detail in the same image.

As for perspective, the sun does appear very large in the image. But zoom is a thing. The only clear scale reference in the image is the people, but they're all roughly the same distance from the camera so that doesn't help us know how far away from them the camera is (vs how much zoom is applied). Rocks come in various sizes so are not a very useful perspective clue.

Finally, why would anyone go to great lengths to create a fake like this? It would be a fake of something that really does happen and actually does look like this, so what's the point? The theory that it's just a cheap filter applied to a sunset doesn't seem likely because of how continuous that cloud looks, and how much this genuinely looks like what an annular eclipse looks like!
