I saw this happen in person finally. I always read about it online but i'm visiting Oklahoma and my friend had her house broken into. So we... went down the street and she bought a shotgun like it was beer. It was so casual, no training or anything.. no qualifications necessary it was so bizarre and jarring. Here you have a tiny 22 year old girl, no training whatsoever, never held a gun in her life just grab a shotgun.... and then we just walked home.

I kept asking a million questions I already knew the answers to, but I was having such a hard time processing this was totally normal and legal I just kept repeating "wait, don't you need at least a license or certification or anything?" nope. Dropped some cash, here's your shotgun and ammo.
