Voyager is a creeper

My issue with VOY is the predictability of each episode. They're going along and are suddenly attacked by some belligerent species. Every time a simple solution to the problem could be used, "that last hit" took it out. Janeway is also kind of a piece of shit. The Federation claims to respect the laws of other species, but any time those laws interfere with VOY getting home, Janeway just say "fuck them, I do what I want". She's violated the Prime Directive on numerous occasions for no other purpose than getting home faster. She condemns the actions of Capt. Ransom and his crew for killing alien beings in order to get home faster... but she did the same damned thing when she helped the Borg fight Species 8472. The characters on VOY are also incredibly shallow compared to other series. Paris always has some snarky comment pointing out the obvious. Chakotay always has some ridiculous Indian tale anecdote for whatever situation arises. Neelix's jealousy in the first season or two is intolerable. Janeway is ridiculously self-righteous. It also bugs me how Kim never gets promoted. Yeah, they address that and say it's because there is a command structure, whatever. Yet, Paris, who was convicted of TREASON is just made a Lt. Then he commits an act of terrorism on the ocean planet and gets busted to Ensign, only to be promoted back to Lt at a later date. Kim has a nearly spotless career but remains the lowest ranking officer the whole time. Even members of the Maquis were promoted over him despite the fact that they are terrorists who essentially and indiscriminately murder Cardassians simply for being Cardassians. Torres was responsible for launching a weapon of mass destruction in an attempt to commit genocide but that was just ignored when she was able to stop it from hitting the planet in the Delta quadrant.
