You just have to accept that there was no way a convenient situation like full-rumbling and titan curse ending was gonna happen. Otherwise what’s the big sacrifice for Eren here? It makes no sense that his sacrifice would be the death of his friends since he could easily prevent them from dying.

You keep saying “we’ll the author chose so” well ofcourse he did, he’s the goddamn author like he can choose to write the world conveniently not hate Eldians for example or that there is not curse of Ymir and make Eren live happily ever after but then there wouldn’t be a story to tell would there.

If him allowing them to have titan power so that they can stop him since he wants to die is not a good reason then pls provide me w/ a better reason as to why he let them use the titan powers? And don’t give me that “he cares about their freedom”. There is no way he cares about their freedom more than their lives since he’s is saving Paradis bcuz THEY live there.

Also how was Eren's biggest reason to do the rumbling pre-ending to protect Paradis, when he cries in front of Ramzi and tells him that he did the rumbling because of something more, he wanted to reach that scenery, to be free by seeing the sights in Armin's book, therefore, he destroyed the world because he wanted it to turn into a blank state, but ppl still tried to paint him as a patriot, even though in chapter 125, we saw how the walls collapsed and fell on top of the people of Paradis, but he still didn't seem to care that much. Literally in the fake preview of volume 33 says “trample the world for your friends and dreams” like that should spell out his main motivation for the rumbling.

One minor change doesn’t warrant that the ending was retconned when 99.99999% of the anime is the same as the manga lol

The reason Grisha gave Eren the AT was bcuz he was M.A.N.I.P.U.L.A.T.E.D with Eren reminding him on Faye and his fallen patriots since he instantly regrets it and asks Zeke to stop Eren bcuz he saw what that would cause like this is pretty clear.

Hange death was literally outside of his control like he, repeatedly says “I’m moving forward. “The rumbling is going to continue” and he didn’t stop the rumbling.

Eren literally says in the ending “Even if I didn’t know that you would STOP ME” He was STOPPED/HALTED. He didn’t plan on stopping in 80% he just knew he would be by the alliance bcuz that future was bound to happen since he didn’t prevent them from using titan powers since he subconsciously wanted them to kill him. There is a clear difference.

If Hange jumps in front of collosal titans go kill two that are going to step on their plane, Eren can’t guarantee they’ll survive. He isn’t stopping and he isn’t going to take away their freedom. Eren killing his mom was foreshadowed in Reiner’s past when we see Dina ignoring Bertholdt.

The Ymir loving Fritz is implied through her curiously starring at a couple kissing. I guess you could argue her saving Fritz was too but that could just be explained through slave mentality.

Eren wanting and/or being willing to die was foreshadowed through him not regenerating his body, the fact he let the warriors, who aren’t his friends, keep their Titan powers, and Reiner theorizing about it.

Eren’s true motives for the rumbling were hunted tons of times, particularly in 131.

I’m not saying the ending is flawless like I def can see that it’s rushed and has some questionable dialogue but for me it’s thematically very good and wraps up everyone character in a satisfying way. Notice how I said everyone which is the different between this ending and the ending a lot of the Yeagerists want which is and ending that total favors Eren while also shits on everyone else’s arc hence I can’t really take their criticism that seriously when Ik what they truly wanted.
