But you did choose to have sex, knowing the risks. So why is it fair to get an abortion? Again, I am not some crazy pro-life person because every case is unique. But I feel like the case you described is indeed selfish. I’m careful with what I do because I know I must be ready to accept anything that comes. And no- I don’t live in a conservative household, everyone is fairly liberal. My mom always told me when I was growing up if something happened she wouldn’t be mad or anything, she’d simply say I guess we have a baby on the way! That love and support means a lot to me, and I get that not everyone has that. So it’s harder for people who will be 100% on their own.

It doesn’t seem, in this case specifically, it’s punishing you. But accepting the consequences, that’s all.

This might be a stretch but being in cat rescue, my family and I saw a lot of pregnant mommies. Any stray female that came we would always ensure wasn’t pregnant before we got them spayed. It would terminate the pregnancy if the cat was fixed while pregnant. It was definitely going to be more work having 6 kittens to find a home rather than just 1 mommy, but it worked out okay. We never fixed a pregnant cat and let them have their kittens, and did everything we could to find them loving homes.

Again, this may be a stretch but the point should be clear- I wouldn’t do it to an unborn kitten so why would I do it to an unborn child?

Again, I still have an open mind. I’m not going to push pro-life legislation because everyone’s case is indeed different. As a future health professional, I have to be open minded and help out the patient where I can even if I don’t personally agree with them. I wouldn’t deny somebody the medication used for abortions even though I don’t necessarily agree with them.
