That date is the date the severance ends for those in the last round. They laid everyone off before the WARN act change on 4/10. April 9th is exactly 60 days out from the layoffs that already happened in February. They trimmed the company down so much in the last round (most of the stores and warehouses in NJ) that now when the new NJ WARN act changes come into play the company will start laying people off in smaller numbers so they don’t have to give any severance to anyone if they are under the 50 person min. Corporate staff is so small now that they won’t do a mass layoff again they will lay people off in groups of 5/10/15. That’s why they hired consultants to advise them on how to dissolve the company in the most profitable way in NJ before 4/10.
