Weekly questions megathread - August 10, 2020 to August 16, 2020

  1. Self-destructive is stuff like kill yourself, jump off a cliff, drink this poison flask. The exact wording is "obviously self-destructive order.
  2. Weirdly the spell doesn't specifically states, but I believe that the RAI is that the affected creature gains the Controlled condition which means that the controller has to dictate each action that the creature takes during a encounter, if possible. The spell is pretty vague so I believe there's a lot of space for GM rulings, so I will just say how I would run it. If the controller isn't around it's safe to say that the creature will carry out the order at best of their conditions avoiding obvious risks. If the order somehow puts they in a obvious danger, like a controller tells them to go back home and the only way to do that is crossing a raging sea swimming they would stop following the order until it is commanded again. In the same vein, if they are told to kill their allies they would try to do that, but they would get a save each time they tried a hostile action against their allies, since it's against their nature, and if became clear that doing so would get them killed they would stop following the order. The key is: if the order isn't obviously self-destructive from the start they will carry out the order until it becomes so or until they succeed the save.
  3. Yes, a full day. The spell has the incapacitation trait though, so it's less effective against higher level opponents.
