What Alcohol Does to Your Body, Brain & Health | Huberman Lab Podcast #86

I’ve known my relationship with alcohol is dysfunctional for a while but this hits it home. I’m not an alcoholic, I don’t drink at home or keep alcohol in the house but since I was a teenager I’ve been a binge drinker. It’s as if I get past three drinks and then my internal filter turns off and I just mindlessly continue. I can easily not drink for weeks and then drink 10+ drinks on a Saturday night. The fact that he also talks about black out is worrying to me because I’ve had many nights where I can’t remember the majority of what happened.

Social pressure stop me from quitting drinking entirely but I really want to reduce my overall intake. Perhaps I’ll take a few months off and see what happens.
