My mom would severely overreact if I did anything wrong, but she was also easily persuaded. She gets a call about me skipping school? Well of course not mom! The teacher marked me absent even though I was there. They do that all the time. Happens to my friends constantly. She would buy even the most outlandish of excuses.

Sometimes it would take a while of convincing, which taught me to never stop until she believes me. It was great then that I could escape her draconian idea of punishments, but it’s been the hardest mindset to break out of as an adult.
