What are some overlooked plays in Mtg? Such as Beserk on an opponents creature to kill it, or Vines of Vastwood to prevent Splinter twin to attach to a Deceiver Exarch?

EDH game playing a Voltron deck where I need to swing for lethal with my commander, [[Eight-and-a-Half-Tails]], or lose next turn. I have [[Argentum Armor]] and [[Godsend]] attached to Tails, making it an 11/11 with and my opponent has 25 life and 4 Commander Damage already. He also has [[Attrition]], [[Sidisi, Undead Vizier]] and 13 tapped 2/2 Zombie tokens on the field, but his only untapped Lands are [[Urborg, Tomb of Yogmoth]] and [[Unholy Grotto]].

So, Main Phase 1, I sac my [[Wasteland]] targeting his Urborg, to which he responds with tapping it for a Black mana. Move to Start of Combat he loses the Black mana and I cast [[Battle Mastery]] and attach it to Tails thanks to [[Sigarda's Aid]] letting me Flash it in so that way he can't target Tails with Attrition thanks to the lack of a Black source. This is important, because if I had to use Tail's ability to protect it from Attrition, Battle Mastery would fall off due to the Protection from White status. I then declare Tails as an attacker using Argentum Armor to destroy his only blocker and win.

Here's a screenshot from the replay, as it was played on Cockatrice. You can see the Wasteland and Urborg in our Graveyards. If only he had cast Damnation the turn prior.
