What to buy if FCC wins

You’re due diligence hasn’t been done properly, the opinions you’ve written in this thread miss the whole point of Net Neutrality: that everyone gets fair and equal access to the internet.

The buzz-word scare mongering right now is heavy on the “muh increased monthly subscriptions” rhetoric but the real outcome of destroying Net Neutrality is that new companies will be suffocated before they have a chance to gain access to large marketshare.

In the current, Net Neutrality market, startups like Facebook, Netflix and Reddit could stream whatever they want, when they want, to whoever they want, without anything or anyone holding them back and the market decides who won. In a world without Net Neutrality, anything goes, so the larger players in a startup’s market could just outbid them on prioritized bandwidth, effectively “hiding” them from their target market. In Reddit’s case, Digg would have just outbought them; in Facebook’s case, MySpace would have outbought them and in Netflix’s case, every video streamer from Blockbuster to YouTube to the TV/Cable networks to Hollywood to Yahoo Video would have outbought them. Remember any of those former market giants? Net Neutrality keeps the market liquid and innovative.
