What we can glean from the way Christians responded to Lauren Daigle

She probably should have known, the Bible is pretty clear on the issue and after becoming such a public figure and going on Ellen she really should have studied and prepared better beforehand. I also think that some form of speaking against the statement is necessary; Christianity does take a definite side on the issue and we need to make that known. Whether prepared for it or not, she’s representing Christianity when put on a public platform like that. If something wrong is said, that’s gonna be what the rest of the world thinks Christians believe, so it’s important that the truth is put out there.

That being said, you’re absolutely right that the response against her really hasn’t been Christian at all. People have been blasting her way to hard about it and they seem to be forgetting that she’s their sister in Christ. She’s not a false prophet, she’s not a false teacher, and she’s not a fake Christian, just a Christian woman who messed up a bit by not preparing properly for a question. The gospel isn’t about lashing out at people when they do something wrong, it’s about forgiving them when they do. I’m sure a lot more people would realize this if they received the same kind of treatment every time they said something wrong.
