What exactly are Demons? (Discussion)

The thing is, while in your human body there are only so many "tricks" we are able to perform. We call magick, or sorcery. For a spirit, these "tricks" are the medium through which they interact with mundane matter.

A person with a trained mind can easily influence the emotions of other people around him. The practice of trataka is one of the best known ways with which this is enabled to a practitioner.

From what I understand, a spirit is "reborn" after life in a body. They reincarnate into the spirit world (to be "carnate" in a body is death, to die is to be born.). When in the spirit world, it is very hard to learn lessons because a spirits are telepathic. It is their means of communication. This means that while a spirit can be empathetic, the empathy does not have the profundity that comes with having the 3 degrees of separation we have in this human body.

Also, there is no sense of urgency for a spirit. We do things because our lives will be impacted. We do things because they matter. Because we don't want to have to suffer. For a spirit, this is just not the case. Spirits don't really have to do anything, unless they are bound by more powerful entities.

That is why we have a duty while bound to our mortality to live the best we can, and help others.

Also, it is important to realize that we attract attention for our deeds. We become known through our actions. What kind of attention would you like to draw to yourself?

Two of the most active locations for demonic activity are prisons and hospitals. The seeds of evil are ignorance. The soil they are planted in is ineffective communication. They are fertilized with fear.

This doesn't mean that good and evil aren't essentially the same thing. It's how we adapt to circumstances which colors our perception. Unfortunately, a major consideration for good or evil is our own immediate convenience and sense of entitlement to be safe and secure.

Truthfully, any deed which validates our inherent existence is seen as "good".

Any deed which falsely invalidates our existence (comes from a place of "perhaps you should not exist as you are, or you do not exist as you are, or I can make you not exist as you are, at all") is evil.

To affirm the goodness of existence is nurturing.

To deny the goodness of existence is malevolence.

However, since existence is affirmed only through the ability to perceive, this can foster Nihilism. We can say we do not exist, because our very existence relies on the existence of everything else which which to compare ourselves.

The truth is: existence exists.

Non-existence does not exist.

There is no such thing as nothing.

Therefore, nothing is everything, and everything is nothing. Since there is no nothing, there can only be everything.
