What is a good training school for close protection that companies look for?

Not sure where you are at or if you're willing to travel, but Phoenix Security Academy in Houston, TX is owned and operated and instructed by one of the most highly qualified guys in the entire industry. The man holds 2 different doctorates, a PhD, has been a Chief of Police for 2 different agencies, was a US Marshal, and even helped the State of Texas write its laws regarding Security and training years ago when the state decided to update its laws governing the industry. The man is widely known throughout the US as one of the best of the best.

He only holds PPO classes 1 time a month, and only if he has enough students RSVP for it in advance. But if you go through his PPO course and get certified from his academy for it, you've opened alot of doors throughout the USA. That Academy, because of its owner, carries serious weight to those in the higher levels of the security industry in the USA.

Trust me, I traveled to Houston specifically for that Academy myself, and I had 2 different job offers just from telling these people that I went to that Academy. No interview, no BS application. "When can you start?" Fucking wild.
