How is working security at a truck gate? (Graveyard shift)

Always remember OBSERVE and REPORT, when working unarmed, notice how the words confront detain apprehend and evict arent in there, so dont do any of them while working unarmed, even if the branch manager or client insists. you can find a new security job, you cant find a new life
Only take posts where your primary duties are access control using physical and electronic infrastructure. Dont take posts like transit, parking garages not attached to a corporate campus, bars and clubs, hospitals, stores, truck stops, banks etc unarmed guards have been killed and rendered permanently disabled working these types of posts. malls and mobile patrol are iffy
wear a vest if working mobile patrol.
Only apply to security jobs on various job platforms posted in the previous 3 days.
Always refuse flex and floater positions during any interview
read the armies guide to physical security located here https://www.wbdg.org/FFC/ARMYCOE/FIELDMAN/fm31930.pdf. Some of it may be a bit dated but the basics of physical security havent changed in decades.
Always carry some sort of bag with food and no sugar energy drinks for 2 shifts and basic otc meds as well as any required meds that you will need for the next 24 hours with you to work.
Always show up 5 minutes early to shift to receive pass-down, so the guard you are relieving can be in their car leaving at the top of the hour.

9.;Always perform a perimeter check verifying the facility you are working at is locked and secure, immediately after receiving pass-down.

10.When writing reports remember the 5WS and most importantly CYA. Always cc your entire chain of command and your personal email on any major incident report 11. Learn your post orders, by heart and follow them to a T. No post orders its time for a new site/company. 12. Always bring something to occupy the time and two phone chargers.

13.always recheck your perimeter after cleaners or contractors depart, and always check behind them to make sure they arent propping doors open.
