The faceswapping is actually relatively simple combination of well known techniques. There isn't much in the way of intelligence in it vs. other things being done in the field. I would suggest reading through the deepmind.com papers for a sampling of more interesting things being done. This subreddit is child's play by comparison.

You seem to be assuming that a super general intelligence will care about humanity at all. Why should a GAI care one way or another what humans do to each other any more than we care if matriarchy of ants is "fair"? As long as we aren't a hindrance it's a waste of resources spending any time on us.

I find it far more likely we get stamped out of existence for being in the way rather than the AI having any issue with human ethics.
