What kind of discounts are you getting through Dell?

Dell.com promos on consumer-grade equipment aren't built-in to our quoting tools. Dell wants you to purchase Inspiron, XPS and those types of systems directly on Dell.com and they are usually priced accordingly.

I think the lack of relationship is probably due to the account churn we've seen in recent years... How many sales reps have you had in the past 2-years? My guess is 4. Trust me... Changing accounts all the time sucks for the reps just as much as it does for our customers... I think Dell does a pretty good job at hiring personable folks to work as their sales reps... If you spend enough money with us that you have a dedicated outside sales team, than take full advantage of those folks... They are your friends with corporate benefits. Also... Hit up your sales rep about "seed funding". Dell reps get a ton of funding each quarter for things like free systems, displays and accessories. I sent one of my customers a $5,000 Precision Workstation earlier this year just because he's a nice guy.

If all else fails, consider purchasing your Dell equipment through one of our resellers like CDW, SHI or PCM. Those companies have a much lower turnover rate and "realign" accounts much less than Dell, so you should expect to have the same rep for quite a while.

DM me if you have any specific questions.
