What is this place? In the middle of nowhere, just paintings

The following contains spoilers for both RDR and RDR2. The community knows this place as the "Strange Man's cabin". Let me explain. The strange man is basically the Grim Reaper of the RDR franchise. In RDR2, He monitors the player's progress, honor and the players actions specifically if the player spares of kills Jimmy Brooks. Many paintings in the cabin change as the players becomes honorable or dishonourable. The painting in the middle gets completed over time and becomes a painting of The Strange Man himself, and you can mow see him in the mirror in the cabin behind you. A few messages can be seen written on the walls, some point out details about the game's main story and others are about the strange man's other victims specifically Herbert Moon, the owner of the Armadillo general store. For example one of these messages says "From the snow to the cave" which is obviously the journey of Arthur and the Van Der Linde Gang, starting from the snowy mountains in the north to the cave at Beaver Hollow. The strange man is also encountered in the first game in the stranger missions "I Know You", A series of missions that are changed based on John's Choices. In the ending cutscene of the missions, The mysterious man points out a cliff overlooking John's Ranch as a "Fine spot". John then proceeds to shoot the man 3 times before his gun jams, none of the bullets having an effect on The Strange Man. The three bullets indicate the deaths of John, Abigail and Uncle and the gun jamming indicates Jack's survival. The cliff is also the place where the 3 are buried at the end of the main game.
