Believe it or not, passenger cars account for a little over 46% of all vehicle related deaths in the world. If you want to lean on that logic, then you should realize that the data is skewed because the vast majority of vehicular deaths occur in metropolitan areas where the use of large trucks and semis is lower, which contradicts your point. My whole issue with the gas tax was that it wasn’t targeted whatsoever. Assholes driving big SUVs and trucks in metro areas for recreational purposes should be the ones hurting from this tax. It’s people like me that drive a light truck in a rural area for work, because I literally have to, that are shouldering the bulk of this tax. It’s bullshit.
