What’s the most embarrassing thing a parent has done to you?

When I was younger, about 6/7. My parents took me to see Santa. In Ireland, there is a place called the Aliwee caves. They do tours year round but one Christmas they had Santa at the end of the cave for everyone to meet.

The same year, one day out of fustration, I put my foot threw the glass on our front door. It was only a single pane so it broke pretty easy. Anyway back to the point, the company running the tour had asked the parents for an embarrassing story that happened during the year, low and behold they decided to share the story of me breaking the glass out of fustration. When it was your turn to go up and meet santa he told everyone whatever was provided.

Picture this, a cave filled with 50 people. Kids going up with their families to meet Santa, came to my turn. Went up. Sat on his knee and he goes and shares my story. I went as red as a tomato. I remember burning up inside. Questioning how did he know? How do I get out of this one?

Years went on and it wasn't until I found out the truth about Santa that it all came together. I realised what they had done.

I look back on it now, and it's one memory that really stuck out with me from my childhood. I see the funny side to it and if given the chance I'd do the same. Sure at the time I panicked but they got a good laugh out of it.

Tldr: broke a window. Went to meet Santa in a cave and he shared the story in the cave filled with 60 people. Went like a tomato.
