What is still good in the world?

I know there's a lot on the internett about how people are bad, how people lose faith in humanity and so on. And it's true, there are a lot of people that are bad. An important part of human instinct is to survive, and that requires looking after oneself. But there's also a lot of people that are great people.

I struggle with many things. Anxiety is one of the things. I don't initiate contact with others and make sure to keep my distance. It would be terribly easy for people to just let me sit in my own darkness when I resist every attempt at being pulled out, but people legitimately cared and didn't let that stop them from helping. Why do people do that? I think just as much as looking after ourself is an important part of human instinct, the next part is to look after others when you can.

Not everyone will be as lucky as I was. Others might not see your struggles and your pain, and thus won't be trying to help you because they don't know you need help. But if you can stretch out your hand and say "Please help me", so many people are willingly going to try and grab hold of your hand and pull you in.

And then you come onto the internett, and go to a place which is specifically for helping people, which means there are only two types of people there, people needing help and people giving help. But it's not just one type, people go on the internett, use of their own time to help others who desperately need it.

Humans are kind, great things that look after their own. Not every human is like that, but I think the majority is like that. That's good in the world and that will keep the world good for a long time.
