What's the psychology behind why we do the things we do?

Also a fast eater, I eat quickly because when I was growing up I had very little time to fit in eating.

School started at 8:45, I had a paper route that started at 5:30, and I need sleep adequately so I'd roll out of bed, get dressed, do job, come home at like 7:30, shower, teeth, shave, do hair, get dressed, sort out my bag for what classes I had that day, then have about 10 minutes left to drink a cup of coffee, and make, and eat something.

Then at night i had either band practice, rugby, or generally going somewhere, as well as homework, and chores. So again I'd shovel a microwave meal, or whatever mum made if she was home that day down my neck and run out the door again.

Even when I was out I'd get food somewhere and eat it in the time took to walk from one place to another, when I was in college the local takeout places sold cheaper food to us broke students. I could eat a whole lemon chicken meal while marching a mile back to campus.

I have more free time these days, but i still inhale food, and drink tea, or coffee scalding temps. I can't help it
