What's with the Hearthstone treatment to Dragoncraft?

I've been seeing a few suggestions to add new game modes, I've seen a few Tournament ideas as well, so I thought I might add this as it's already been an implemented idea before and I think it would transition well into Gwent as it is a pretty simple system.

Automated tournaments were a feature added to the Beta of Legacy of the Void(SC2) and it really rekindled my addiction to SC2 when it was relewould have ased, Obviously Starcraft and Gwent are two completely different games, and adjustments to be made to transition from one game to another.

How do Automated Tournaments work?

Signing up for a tournament puts you in the Registrant Pool. When the registration period expires, everyone in the Registrant Pool is assigned a tournament based on MMR. So, if 400 players entered the Registrant Pool, and the format is an 8-player bracket, then the bottom 8 MMRs would be one tournament, the next-highest 8 MMRs would be another, and so on, until everyone is assigned, this is how it works there, and I think the MMR/Ranked Points based grouping of players would work completely fine in Gwent although the number of people in a bracket could be debatable.

Competing in a tournament will affect your MMR. Each game in a tournament carries the same weight as a ladder match. Because of this, rank placement and rank promotion are possible exclusively through playing tournament games, this is where the games start to differ, this could go two ways in my mind:

  • Make it so Tournaments don't affect your MMR/Current Rank in ranked mode, to make the mode more accessible for newer/more casual players, and maybe give a small reward for winning a tournament instead of simply Rank Points.

  • Keep it that way, and make it so winning Tournaments gives a bit more/less Rank Points than winning ladder games.

  • Or, make it so Tournaments only give a Keg or Scrap prize, since Tournament metas are usually different than Ladder, it would make sense that Tournaments don't alter your MMR/Ranked Points.

How would I join an Automated Tournament?

One of the main reasons why I'm making this post is, I think it would be incredibly simple to implement this into the Gwent UI, in SC2, this is a very basic queue-up interface.

When a tourney is about to begin.

In the middle of a tournament.

When you win. And when you lose.

What would be the problems with bringing this mode into Gwent?

Mainly formats really, since Gwent is a cardgame, 1v1 single elimination obviously isn't fitting, Hearthstone has been using conquest since forever but many people don't think it's the right format for Gwent tournaments to use, so that's something I am unsure about myself.
