Where was he?

as well as statements from Maruyama even affirming the fact that he is an outstanding dragon.

That could mean a lot of things.

To me, this is a shame, because personally for me, PDL is one of the most likable and relatable characters in Overlord: An upholder of world order, a nation-builder, a pragmatist that understands that making sacrifices is necessary to achieve the best outcome, someone who acts with humility, someone who cares deeply for his friends, and someone who goes out of his way to fight against powers beyond his understanding because he believes it’s the right thing to do.

You got all that from where? Seriously what the hell is this?

What are you even talking about? What sus behavior has he demonstrated that makes you think so lowly of him?

Oh you mean besides the fact that the world is shittier than a dark age kingdom with the black plague thanks to his "protection"? I don't know, how about the fact that he plans to dispose of Azuth the moment he had no more use for him, and also implied that he kills a player in the thirteen heroes who actually is friendly with him in the past.

Except that doesn’t fit in with PDL’s character. He has never once demonstrated any sign of greediness. And killing ECDL wouldn’t give him anything anyways.

You don't have nearly enough info to decide that

Paranoia would fit in, but that is paranoia against those who act malevolently. People who hold their power responsively, PDL held no quarrels with (6GGs, Minotaur Sage.)

Yeah, I'm sure that's what he tells himself. Doesn't make it true

So basically, inventing some obscure random motivation to fit in with your narrative of PDL’s character.

I mean, if you say perfectly mundane reasons as "obscure random motivation" then fine. Whatever. Be that way.
