Which JA parents are your parents most like?

Mr. Bennet in that I am an obsessive reader, have a sharper tongue and harsher wit than I would wish, have a tendency toward amused cynicism, am naturally anti-social, try to avoid conflict (mostly because that sharp tongue will say things that I will regret), and am extremely lazy.

As for parenting style, I have aspects of Mr. Bennet, too. I see my child as an individual and try to allow him as much autonomy as I can so long as it doesn't impact his safety, overall well-being, and is socially appropriate/civil. I provide some structure, but let him take the lead as much as is possible. My only goals as a parent is to raise a kind human being who is capable of taking care of himself inasmuch as his natural abilities will allow.

However, I fight those negative tendencies: I force myself to do be active for my and others' benefit (though I am totally okay being lazy and reading whenever I can without it negatively impacting others), try to soften my tone, work to not be so judgemental of myself or others, would never verbally abuse my family, and I save for my child's future. If I lived alone with no spouse or dependants, I would totally turn into Mr. Bennet, though.
