White Privilege

I am by no means an authority on the subject, but I personally look at it as the first step for any change - personal or societal. In order to create any real, lasting change a person must come to terms, admit and acknowledge that there is a problem in the first place. Only from there can they grow, learn and work towards positive changes. Without this step, I personally think any action then lacks direction or motive. It ties into making clear goals for oneself with a step-by-step process on how to achieve those goals.

If you're someone who wants to lose weight, you can't just eye your calories, exercise, or health because it lacks a plan. You set up a specific diet, exercise routine, closely count calories, etc. By first acknowledging the problem (overweight) you can then start creating a plan and positive change to better yourself.
