Who is the best to cover Scottish Football?

Part of the reason why Scottish football isn’t taken seriously is the punditry. You’ve either got people who are good at analysis, but have zero personality (Maloney). Then you have the “shock jocks” who don’t actually contribute anything meaningful and are just there to wind people up (Boyd and Sutton). As much of a wanker as I think Jamie Carragher is, both he and Neville work because they can balance professionalism/analysis with having a laugh. We don’t have anyone that can do that.

McCoist is probably the best. A really likeable, normal guy who has great patter, talks a lot of sense and is up for a laugh. I like John Collins but he’s very much got that Roy Keane “be a MAN” thing going on when it comes to footballers.

Kris Boyd is by far the worst and the fact that he’s the representative of Scottish football on Sky Sports is a huge indictment to our game. He can’t read, can’t construct a sentence without saying “ehhhh” four times and his patter is the equivalent of a Rangers-centric Twitter account.
