S and w style is a meme/reference/joke made popular by myself after giving it heavy exposure and intense ridicule. The s and w style topic was created by Fantasy (Sabi, Storm-, zSkill) as a way to identify movement and control in CTB. S style is recognised by snappy, solid and controlled movement of the CTB platter without overshooting, as well as excessive dash tapping makes up the basic visual representation of what an S style is. W style is more of a sloppy slippery style that represents the movement or flow of water. That doesn't sound too crazy but when you hear the full story it becomes a bit ridiculous and you can begin to understand why it has become such a well-known term. Fantasy claims a few things that make it into a joke rather than an actual viable system for analysing movement seriously.
"You cannot change your style from w to s no matter how much you learn good platter control and become better at the game"
"S styles are rare and there are less than 10 of them in the history of CTB"
"If you start the game as w style you can only achieve snappy (S style like) w style at best. (which is where the "you weren't born with it" joke stems from).
Lines such as, "His W style couldn't handle the bpm of that slider" or "Look! He is way to sloppy with his movement. His w style is a really bad match for these types of patterns/mods.”
So, yeah, just face it; unless you were born with the blood of the gods, which, if you factor in the odds; you weren't, you can never be s style, so for that I am so sorry; you will be bad forever.
