The option was only given at a widespread level in Spring 2020 because the pandemic forced students to switch learning modalities in the middle of the semester. Now that students signed up for classes with modalities that are pre-determined, there is no longer any need to adjust grading policies away from the standard. Even by Fall 2020, the university did not offer a widespread "Y" policy. For last and this semester, it remains up to the discretion of the specific professor or department. You will have to reach out to your department head or professor to confirm if they are offering a "Y" option. If it is not in your syllabus, it likely is not being offered.
