I wish people gave the ending more credit.

I'm sorry, what? Isn't this the game where it's practically impossible to be a bad guy? That's what everyone says, anyway. The PC is as good or as bad as you make them, so that's neither here nor there really.

There is no inherent moral system like in previous games but shooting a random civilian for no reason most definitely makes you a "bad guy".

This entire argument hinges on whether you think Gen 3 synths are people or not. If you do think they are people, then killing the mad scientists that created and enslaved them is justified. As justified as taking out the raiders in Paradise Falls, anyway. If you don't then yes this is an understandably questionable thing to do.

There's no actual argument to be made here unless you also believe that programming a toaster to have feelings makes it "human" as well.

Yes, after you seeing you take out a town full of raiders AND a deathclaw to save a few settlers. There's only like... 2 other minutemen out there. It makes sense the way I see it. The minutemen at this point are beaten. Preston feels he can't lead after Quincy and having cornered his folks in Concord. In comes a stranger who's willing to risk everything for people he doesn't even know. That, in essence, is what the minutemen stand for. It makes perfect sense and if that's the best argument you have then no wonder you're crazy enough to side with the institute.

You didn't go in looking to rescue a group of strangers, you went in to find information on your lost son. If you want to pretend your character is a selfless hero who did it out of the kindness of their heart then that's fine, but that's hardly the reality of it. It still doesn't change the fact that Preston burdened you with all this responsibility while you are trying to find your son and avenge the murder of your wife/husband.

Which one? Stealing babies and brainwashing them? Killing the parent? I'm sorry.... I'm starting to thinking we're playing a different game, here... did you even play the main story?

I did, but again, I never saw anything about kidnapping children so they could kill their parents. Maybe it was hidden in a terminal in some spot I managed to miss but I don't usually go that far out of my way to try and find reasons to hate a faction.

So what you're saying is the advancement of technology is worth any moral sacrifices you make along the way? Are you serious? Joseph Mengele would be proud!

In a post-apocalyptic world where Raiders, Super Mutants, radioactive abominations, etc. roam the topside turning you into meals or killing you for fun? Yes.
