She would have tripped up eventually. The more I started putting things together, the more I realized I needed to be able to prepare for the inevitable divorce. I tapped the home phone, which was pretty easy to do actually, and was able to get her in conversations with a couple of different people. Actually telling one that she was having a relationship with another! I made sure I had a number of copies made before I confronted her. When she came home from work one afternoon, I asked her if we could talk, because I had something I needed to share with her. I put the tape player on the table, and played a quick couple of minutes where she was discussing her performance with her main suitor. I asked her if she had anything that she would like to say. Knowing she had been caught, she told me "what can I say?". I pulled the tape out of the player, handed it to her, and told her, "that's your copy, I have 6 others." Then left the room. I still have those tapes in my safe I believe. Never actually listened to most of them. Just enough for confirmation was all I could stomach.
