The world is not getting worse, the data is getting better.

We still have death, we still have disease, we still have suffering. Unfortunately what we also have is people so bored they'll get you fired for not referring to them with xi/xir pronouns. We also have an intense level of dehumanization and social regression thanks to constant, soul-sucking internet usage leading to overstimulation and an unnatural level of interconnectivity, and no, I don't miss the irony in me saying that on Reddit via my smartphone.

You can easily brush this off as a classic le wrong generation rant, but from everything I've read, watched and heard, back when things were simpler and harder, we valued life more and lived it fuller. I'm pretty sad I won't get to experience that for myself. The modern developed world is a bizarre smorgasbord of echo chambers, misinformation, and emotional disconnection.
