19 year old boy forced to register as a sex offender even after 14 year old told police and judge she had lied about being 17.

You guy's are kidding me right? Do you really not see how this is the correct legal decision? Or how this isn't a fucking men's right's issue?

There are very good reasons statutory rape is a statutory law, which in layman's-terms means there is no way around it.

Everyone is accountable for who they sleep with, even if the other person lies to you, it is YOUR responsibility as a REASONABLE person to reasonably determine the truth. If you were 30 and a 12 year old girl came up to you and said she was 18, would you sleep with her? No, of course not right? Well this is the same exact situation, you just feel a bit less strongly about it because the age difference is 14 and 19 (but remeber that's also a middle school student vs a college student; which is a pretty gross difference still, at least in my opinion).

If this law wasn't statutory, every single rapist (MAN or WOMAN which is why this isn't a fucking men's right's issue, but a legal one in general) who has sex with a minor would claim that they "were lied to" and try to turn the trial into a he-said she-said argument, which are notoriously hard to prove, and would result in many of them walking free. The DOJ does not even want that argument on the table, so they made the law statutory, which means regardless of the circumstance, if you sleep with a minor as an adult, there is NO WAY out of it. Which, if we're using common sense, should make sense to every single one of you.

I mean really? You don't think a REASONABLE 19 year old college aged MAN should be responsible for determining wether or not a 14 year old little girl is of age or not; she's barely out of middle school.

And once again, this is not a "Men's right's" issue. The same law get's applied to women that sleep with minors; look up any one of those cases.

This is literally the biggest circle-jerk i've ever seen on reddit.
