20(f) thinking about dropping out of college and becoming an electrician. looking for advice.

Depending on how long she waits (to go back) she may not be able to have her credits count. Tuition costs increase every year. She also may not currently have the life challenges that she may have later on. Like a mortgage, childcare, having to care for an elderly parent. Trust me I know your mentality. I didn't like going to school. But even still the reality of the world is that a bachelor's degree is a benchmark for a lot of employers regardless of its relevance. If she hadn't already started school I would say go in the trades w/o a degree. Since she is already started I would say finish it. Just for increasing her options as someone in the electrical field or even if she decides to do something else. At the end of the day her choice is hers to make, but coming from someone older. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. She can easily be injured in this trade and can't continue on. A degree would be beneficial to her even as practically real world worthless as they may be.
