Ah, NO.

First of all, their vaunted work for 'freedom of religion' was completely self-serving. The Watchtower Society had absolutely NO interest in helping ANY one else; they just wanted to clear the way for THEIR proselytizing, since they consider ALL other religions to be part of "Satan's" world.

As for gay marriage having ANY thing to do with religion - again, NO. Gay marriage has to do with CIVIL rights, not religious freedoms.

Also, thanks to 'Murica's religious free-for-all, 'Murica has played host to some of the nastiest, most deadly & destructive cults within the last 100+ years - Jehovah's Witnesses (no blood transfusions have killed hundreds, at the least), Scientology (tried to infiltrate & hobble the U.S. government - the very nation that gave them the religious freedom to fleece their members in the first place, "Heaven's Gate" - body count 39 people, "Branch Davidian" - body count 76 men, women & children, and of course Jim Jones' "People's Temple" - body count over 900 men, women & children.

Not to mention the number of lives ruined by con-artists like Jim & Tammy Bakker ($3.4 million in bonuses just for Jim Bakker alone), Reverend Robert Tilton ($80 million a year at his peak popularity), Creflo Dollar (TWO million-dollar homes, a $5 million dollar private jet) and so on.

Yeah, 'Murica's religious "freedom" needs a total overhaul, to make it much less accommodating to religious charlatans & thieves, like ones who've just made a $billion dollars in sales of real estate, are likely receiving at least another half-billion dollars in donations every year, & then go whining to their followers with their hands out for money yet AGAIN...!
