I wouldn’t classify it as hatred at all. More like a super jumpy populace who’s sick and tired of all the unchecked and rampant violent crime, vandalism and drug use happening in every major city. Cops are defunded and outnumbered in many cities—mine included. Every night there are 2-4 stories of violent beatings, muggings and car jackings or home invasions in my town. And daily murders. DAILY.
3 years ago, approaching the wrong car or house would be a minor embarrassing goof-up. Now, people have been trained by the current system to react defensively in situations where they wouldn’t have had to pre-pandemic. You can also thank the media for their frenzy of fear-mongering, amplification, hype, spin, instigation and profiling. But they’ll never admit to it or apologize.
I’m strapped now as I type this while sitting on my porch. I have to be. Too many recent incidents of absolutely batshit craziness in my neighborhood—and I don’t live in a bad area at all. But I’m strapped for my own well-being. I’ve had 3 incidents of people entering my home with bad intentions (burglary and vandalism) since summer of 2021. All I have to show for it is a bunch of destroyed property and protective orders that took 3 attempts to get approved. 3 cases will eventually have criminal trial dates, but it’s been 2 years now and still no dates are set yet. What choice do I have?
So yeah. Someone comes to my door or car or walks up my steps after sundown, believe me, my Glock is gripped in my right hand and it’s already cocked as I assess the threat level (no safety on Glocks so if shit goes sideways I’m ready 2 rock). What these recent cases highlight is people are hyped up on fear and paranoia and lack proper firearm safety and training. I can tell real quick if it’s an innocent mistake vs an attempt to bum rush my residence or car. If another illegal home entry occurs at my place, it’s 2 in the chest, 1 in the head and I’ll have no regrets about it whatsoever. Better the criminal than me!
On the other hand, people also need to be more mindful of their surroundings. I for one would NOT participate in door-to-door preaching anymore and the bOrg is really risking the lives of PIMIs by sending them out that way.
