Adventure Therapy

Client here, equine therapy is the best thing that ever happened to me. It changed my life. They are 1200 lb bullshit detectors. You don’t need to tell them your story, they don’t ask you questions, they are just looking for someone to guide them. But I don’t know who guides who. Because these horses have helped me start to heal.

I’ve watched people completely engulfed in their PTSD smile for the first time, I’ve seen people face their fears, I’ve seen a 75 year old woman confined to a wheelchair 80% of the time be motivated enough to walk 100 yards across the sand arena.

Additionally, I’ve seen severely disabled children smiling and laughing, a kid with severe cerebral palsy start to sit straighter and gain enough muscle strength to lift their head.

Equine therapy needs to be researched and utilized more. There is something there.
