Does it matter whether a program is non-certification or certification if it is CACREP accredited?

To my knowledge CACREP accreditation is useful for licensing in different states. CACREP accreditation pretty much just means a standardized curriculum is taught so when moving through licensure they can assure you have a certain level of training. I would look up your state's laws and any state you may want to be licensed in so you don't have to take additional courses. Although you might get a similar education in a non CACREP setting you may miss out.

As it is becoming more recognized I could see it becoming preferred in the job market as well. Overall if you attend a cacrep program you can say I have this EXACT recognized training as opposed to I attended a program for counseling (which could mean many different things).
