Advice on financial situation from my fellow kiwis

Hi Cmaaak,

I have been previously involved in KS withdrawals for Hardships. Please contact your Kiwisaver provider and they will take you through the hardship withdrawal process. You will need to fill the statutory declaration and application form/budget sheet. You may also need to see a budget advisor to and they will ascertain what your weekly income deficit is. You can claim up to 13 weeks of income deficit from your KS every 13 weeks plus arrears. So if your income is $400pw and your expenses are $800pw you can claim 400*13 = $5,200 every 13 weeks + arrears of bills and payments(so if you are owing rent, bills, the KS can be used to pay these). In this first instance - your rent and bills overdues can be covered by your arrears claim of your KS. You should then look to what you can reduce - maybe moving somewhere cheaper or getting a flat mate. You will be able to pay off or use the 13 week deficit payment to pay your afterpay. They may pay them off if they will be paid off within 13 weeks.. which will reduce your weekly payments. Then you should look to sell your vehicle and pay off the balance of with your KS and buy a cheaper vehicle say around 5k-10k with your KS. You will need to let them know that is your intention. You will then be left with your loan which you can talk to your bank and move to minimal payments. This should help you get you through the next 6 months. If you need any more help with this process let me know and i can guide you. All the best and take care..
