I get the impression from your post that your talking about one off work.

Shamelessly speaking on behalf of kiwi gardeners - if we do your property regularly, we generally know what needs doing.

That being said, if we’re working on behalf of a company, we love to put a face to a property, and a quick hello (if your home) will generally be met with a “how are ya? Anything special you want done today?”.

Maybe that hedge/tree that’s blocking your view isn’t immediately apparent from the ground. Maybe you really like a certain plant that gardeners will generally assume is a weed.

We also love coffee, and ALWAYS appreciate the offer, but due to the nature of maintenance gardening runs we may decline to make sure we can get through our work for the day.

If it’s a once off section clear/jobbing/days work, we will absolutely say yes to the coffee.

Guess it’s just trust, communication and coffee at the end of the day. Much like life.
