Health NZ chair Rob Campbell sacked

This is one cancellation I can get behind. Everyone who is a public servant should know that the idea of political neutrality is close to being sacrosanct. What he did was like if a Catholic cardinal made comments about the Virgin Mary not being divine or something.

His comments about Luxon's policys being a racist dog-whistle against co-governance are just further evidence of how much these views have become part of the conventional wisdom. Add it to all of the articles telling us about how benign co-governance is without even entertaining the idea that there might be some trade-off in terms of the erosion of democratic norms. It's enough to just lazily accuse others of racism. If you're convinced you're right, there's no need to obey the usual norms of debate or in this case political neutrality.
