One of the saddest thing about health is seeing new enthusiastic people coming in to work for the first time, wanting to help people, wanting to be a great nurse, social workers, docs, whatever, and then watching the empathy and life drain out of them far too quickly as they encounter the realities of the health system - sure, there’s multiple factors at play, the under resourcing, the lack of staff, the shifts, the bullying - but a HUGE factor is the unrelenting never ending exposure to an infinite line of cuntnuts and their families. I’ve seen far too many people who come in like amazing rays of sunshine just get burnt out and destroyed by these fuckers.
