Advice of pain management for my wife?

Im towards the end of my first ever and quite terrible flare up. I could not eat anything without it tearing me apart, until I found the right things that brought my pain from 7-10 down to 2-4.

For me it was:

Bananas, ripe with little brown spots. You can cut them up and freeze them, or just have them room temp. I blend them with water, or coconut water and it makes a sweet banana milk. As you heal more you can add things like frozen mango and a few dates. Very easy on the gut and bananas have great nutrients. Also I juice apples, pears l, and celery and have that fresh juice.

For dinners I steam peeled veggies such as sweet potato, carrot, zucchini, red bell pepper, Yukon gold potato, broccoli.

Any combination of those or all, then I purée it my blender. Also I make a Yukon gold mashed potatoes Using my instant pot (water and potatoes only)and let it cool.

Then I make them into potato cakes and bake them at 425-450 degrees for about 30 minutes flipping then half way through and dip them in my soup.

Limit spices, small pinches of salt are okay. But the gut is inflamed and damaged, Eating smooth easily digestible things was important for me when I was at my worst. Unfortunately i am having to avoid gluten and grains for the time being .

I’m still coming out of that flare and doing much better right now. I’m 5 days out from my first remicade dose and it seems to be working for me.

I’m sorry your wife’s has decided to stop working and I hope they are able to get her situated.

Best of luck.

Ps: I am plant based, I’m not saying this is for everyone I just wanted to let you know some things that really worked for me.
