After 10+ years of multiple different publishers putting out "The WoW Killer", all of them (so far) have failed to produce an MMO on the level of WoW. Jokes on them, the only game that can kill WoW is itself.

I don't think that is true tho, i will give you few examples. Most popular games right now are "remakes" or old version of games aka. Dota > dota 2 cs > cs go League is pretty much causal version of dota. Overwatch/HOTS is similar casual etc, but because of the casual aspect and one thing blizzard never get's right is spectator mode for e -sports, they have never made a game that's good about this to make it to the top of twitch during tournaments compared to valve games. PoE was crowd funded better version of diablo 3, it must hurt to know that community pay to make a better and cheaper game then the dev's at blizzard, most played d3 for the rmah esp in Europe as you can make very decent money/income while playing a game. Outside of what last 9-10 years there has been only good Single player games or platform based ones such as god of war/witcher/the last of us etc etc, not a single online game that is not a copy of old game, in fact you can see people (including me ) are very hype about WoW Classic re-lunch, because nowdays people seem to publish unfinished money grab/cosmetic games, and we lack that old polished feel made from gamers by gamers with long development. I have a friend who is a Dev right now and this is how most meetings about new games go " yeah what about you guys make some game like Fortnite battle royal instead of this ( x game my friend wanna do ). It's all about shareholders that don't understand the buisness and want a quick buck or cosmetics/battle royal. It's quite sad to be fair, you might make less money in short term but much more in the long term and have consistent player base rather then hit and run kind of games that die in 1-2 year but make a big " buck".
