Parsing is a double edged sword, for better or worse. Warcraft logs is a seriously impressive bit tech, you have more information than ever to hone your own play and identify mistakes. Parsing gives you a sense of where your play has landed and what you can do to improve it, but parsing ends up the end all be all of recruitment for raids that don’t [i]really[/i] understand logs and what parsing is for.

Far too often does players parsing blue or purple and reliably performing well enough for the encounters get overlooked and passes on. Blue and purple doesn’t mean you’re bad, there is a lot of context as to how you end up in that parse, but a lot of people don’t know how to read these logs and really misunderstand parsing, treating it more as a leaderboard than it is a temporary placement.
