Alize Cornet (FRA) defeats the defending champions Emma Raducanu (GBR) [11] in R1 of the US Open | 6-3, 6-3

Hopefully down the next few years Emma can develop an all around consistent game like Jessica Pegula has this year. I say her because I don't think Emma has a particular weapon like an Iga forehand, Rybakina power or an Osaka serve. That doesn't mean she can't be a great player, it just means she has room to work on her game to progress it in all areas.

In her 2021 USO while her serve and forehand were significantly better than of late, what won her it was that she played perfect tennis in the sense that she made very few UE and was aggressive on the baseline always capitalising on her opponents mistakes. Particularly Sakkari in that Semi Final I thought was the best example.

I don't agree with the mentality of needing a coach for every shot - I think her first step in being consistent is sticking with Tursunov and giving him at least a year. I thought she got rid of Torben too fast, considering she got injured a lot and had covid at the start of the year which ruined her early preparations.
