Kalinskaya barely survived the Brenda Fruhvirtova match and then smoked Rybakina(!) in the next round. If only Brenda didn't have to play an inspired top 60 player we could've had 2 new talents that have the same age breaking through in Madrid. But this Mirra run will definitely help Brenda to go a bit under the radar now, she was carrying all the hype of the next gen before this week. I think these girls will push each other kinda like Noskova/Fruhvirtova are doing. You can see here how Mirra is very competitive she won't want to have a worse ranking than a girl of the same age. If she win this match she will move to (#142) in the WTA ranking. Brenda is #135. I think they will both finish this season comfortably in the top 100.
