I am a current Comcast employee....

I service accounts in Seattle, Portland/SW washington, California, Houston, Twin Cities, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, and Missouri. Every single one of those markets has at least one alternative to internet, and at least two alternatives to TV. In addition most of those markets have smaller providers or both. That, is not a monopoly.

That is not how it works, in a city like say LOS ANGELES, depending on the are where you live, you can only choose from one high speed ISP, same goes for DC, NY, etc. The fact that you can get slow DSL bullshit or even dial-up is not "we are not a monopoly" it only means you have only one cable provider that services the area and does not allow others to either use or deploy their own infrastructure. I can get Comcast, but not any other ISP where I live, not even DSL, just Dial up, and that is ridiculous.

I assure you that if enough people left because of their objection to outsourcing, then there would be a change.

how in the hell are people going to leave if they have no other alternative? You are trying to tell me that if I wanted I could leave Comcast and I should get a subpar service as Dial up because that would help the change? No, that is not how it works.

Lets also look at why companies outsource. With a 40% corporate tax rate it make sense to go over sees

First *Overseas. Now that cleared that out, well, that shouldn't be the case, if you want a ridiculous profit margin well, fuck off and leave the country and good luck to you, but saying that high taxes are the reason corporations leave is very silly.

Instead, we should have a fair and simple domestic tax strategy, but we don't and until we do the government encourages this behaviour.

Again *behavior. Now with that out of the way. They have the best of both worlds, they do not pay ANY tax or very little and they get to profit from the country where they pay no taxes, that is totally not fair. Because you know, fuck the place that allowed you to become once you are, do not invest in the place you were originated at, just profit, make money, suck every single penny you can and then what?

High taxes are needed to support a country and its infrastructure, everybody here seems to be delusional about "one day I'll be rich and I don't want to pay taxes cause fuck you", I rather pay 50% of what I make if I see it is invested in the place that I live, clearly, that is not their or your case.

Additionally, it wasn't until Internet was brought to market that there were advances in the technology that we have today.

What advances are you talking about?? What? NO.

Please, I understand if you're like a Comcast shill that needs to try and divert attention or steer the conversation online to your side, but lets be clear, Comcast in NO FUCKING WAY is a responsible, reliable groundbreaking company as an ISP or otherwise. All they have done is keep their ancient business model without any real investment or interest in their customers as anything other than $$ signs.

We are waaaaay behind on ISP quality for the empire that we are, and that is in no way representative of a good business, but a greedy one.

fuck green.
